Teams are complex and dynamic, where the sum of its individuals can be more than each as a solo part, especially in this 24/7 dynamic world. Harnessing the power of teams requires being intentional about the relationship between you, your people and the organization. 

My approach to team development is not about ropes courses, trust falls or kumbaya; nor about creating rigid team processes. I can work with you and your teams to help them learn how to challenge each other respectfully, have tough conversations that are productive, trust each other’s strengths, and be respectful of other’s growth areas. And during this process, if we uncover other aspects of team performance that need to be addressed, such as a gap in the necessary skills or an individual performance issue, I will advise on options. All in service of bringing the team towards a clear end goal.

A better understanding of your decision-making process and communication style will give you the ability to expand your portfolio of leadership tools to achieve the impacts you intend. Yet we often forget to invest in ourselves because we are so busy investing in others. Think about the airline safety rule: put your own mask on first before helping others. While it may seem counterintuitive, investing in your leadership skill is one of the smartest investments you can make to support your organization and I believe you will find it generates many unexpected positive returns!

Employing personality assessments can be fun, avante-garde, and eye-opening -- and like any tool, must be selected based on context in order to be most effective. Would you use a fork to rake a yard? A jackhammer to create a hole in the wall to hang a picture? Run a 10k in flip flops?

I will work with you to determine whether or not an assessment is beneficial for your team or leadership development need, and recommend a best fit based on the situation. I am certified to administer Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); experienced in other assessments such as DiSC and Strengthsfinder; and can refer to partners for other assessments that require a certified administrator.
